SKILLMAN, NEW JERSEY, September 5, 2007
PrincetonOne, one of the 10 largest recruitment organizations in the United States, announced today it was a recipient of the
Health at Work Award. The award honors organizations who have demonstrated a commitment to promoting health and wellness
for their employees. This is the third year that ComPsych Corporation, the world’s largest provider of employee assistance programs,
has presented the award to select organizations.
“When we decided to launch our wellness program over a year ago, we had no idea that we would receive such an overwhelming
response and participation rate,” said Dave Campeas, CEO of PrincetonOne. “The success of the program is a direct result of our
employees’ willingness to take the issue of their health seriously. We feel the program is a great way to encourage employees in their
efforts to be healthier and it is exciting to see the great results.”
PrincetonOne’s wellness program consisted of a “Weight Loss Challenge” in which employees were separated into teams and
competed to lower their body mass index (BMI). An Intranet site called the “Wellness Centre” was created in which employees
could track their progress in the challenge as well as access health information and articles. Not only has the company seen positive
effects in terms of the overall wellness of its employees, but the program’s success has translated into financial benefits as
well.
“For the past three years, we have dreaded having to report to employees that their insurance was going up – due to the rising cost of
healthcare,” said Campeas. “Last year, we decided to do something about it when we instituted our corporate-wide wellness program.
On average, those who participated in the program had a BMI improvement of 31 percent. This was the first year in our company’s
history that I have been able to report stable rates on our health insurance.”
ComPsych selected award winners based on the innovation of the wellness program, how it was delivered and promoted, what
percentage of employees participated and the results that were achieved.
