GlaxoSmithKline
Strong interview to hire ratio saves critical time
The Client
GlaxoSmithKline is one of the world's leading research-based pharmaceutical and healthcare companies. Having recently gone through a merger between Glaxo Wellcome and Smith Kline, there were many changes occurring within the company at the time they contacted PrincetonOne.
The Challenge
GlaxoSmithKline needed to re-evaluate their business goals and objectives. Growth of the vaccine division was targeted as one major goal, but the company feared they would not be able to grow the division quickly and efficiently enough to retain their top position in the market. GlaxoSmithKline was, and still is, the world's leading vaccine manufacturing company. The objective was to increase the sales of the vaccine division, and grow the division's contribution to company-wide revenues from 15 percent to 50 percent. While this was definitely an aggressive plan, GlaxoSmithKline had many new products in the pipeline and felt their goal was attainable - as long as they could quickly organize a top selling team.
The Solution
It was no coincidence that PrincetonOne was contacted to handle GlaxoSmithKline's hiring needs. Years earlier, PrincetonOne was responsible for presenting an outstanding opportunity to a sales representative who was hired into the company now known as GlaxoSmithKline. After being promoted to District Sales Manager, he contacted PrincetonOne again for help with his hiring needs.
In order to meet the growth goals in the vaccine division, a specific goal of hiring 11 new sales representatives was targeted. PrincetonOne responded quickly, and sourced candidates for all sales positions. GlaxoSmithKline had structured a very quick hiring process, so a clear understanding of candidate specs was vital. They were pleased to find that their interview to hire ratio was 4:1, and they were able to fill all 11 positions within a 60-day period. The partnership between GlaxoSmithKline and PrincetonOne continues today, as we begin a partnership for another expansion.
