Presenting the client's opportunity and recruiting to hire high-demand IT talent
The Client
Based in Huntsville, Alabama, Adtran designs, develops and markets high-speed digital transmission equipment for the
telecommunications industry. Their equipment has been in high demand due to the explosion of Intergrated Services Digital Network (ISDN)
and Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) services.
The Challenge
With the huge demand for high-speed internet connectivity, Adtran could not keep pace with the demand for their products. After a
thorough analysis, they decided to double the size of their primary manufacturing facility in Huntsville. This would enable them to
design and produce more of their existing products, as well as spend time developing new products. The company was also faced with the
challenge of hiring for many types of positions. One of the most difficult spots to fill was the software design engineer position, which
was extremely critical to the manufacturing process. Adtran knew they had a great story to tell potential candidates… if they could
only get their attention. The recruiting department was looking to form a partnership with a search firm who could sell this outstanding
opportunity.
The Solution
Pre-planning and information gathering were PrincetonOne's top priority in this project. Each PrincetonOne recruiter was made
aware of the precise opportunities of the position. The challenge was to recruit hard-to-find candidates by presenting the unparalleled
opportunities Adtran was offering. To help construct the best profile and job description possible, and to be able to speak intelligently
about the industry and company, Princeton's project team visited the Huntsville location on several occasions. PrincetonOne worked
closely with Adtran's senior recruiter and field management team to understand the position and its requirements. The client-sponsored
visits also promoted a growing partnership between PrincetonOne and Adtran, and allowed PrincetonOne to learn more about
Adtran's future growth plans.
The pre-planning paid off tremendously for the partnership and project. PrincetonOne located and recruited several top
caliber candidates and successfully filled six crucial software design engineer positions. Adtran was able to move ahead on
schedule with their aggressive development plans.
